What is the PeriodGiving Collective?
The PeriodGiving Collective is a global generosity movement advancing menstrual justice and community action. We are shifting the narrative around periods from one of shame and poverty to one of dignity and power. We bring together grassroots leaders, organizations, and partners to share resources, amplify stories, and drive systemic change, anchored to GivingTuesday, the world’s largest day of giving.
Our Mission
To activate and amplify radical generosity to advance menstrual justice and community action worldwide
Our Story
The PeriodGiving Collective was born from community care. It began within the GivingTuesday Africa Hub
Our Approach
Our approach is global and continuous; we lead with Generosity as a Strategy, Collaboration and Year-Round and Global
How It Works:Our Simple Path to Impact
We make it easy for anyone, anywhere, to become a part of the solution. Our model is built on three simple steps that turn individual generosity into collective power.
Why PeriodGiving?
We believe that by activating community care and celebrating every act of giving, we can build a world where menstrual health is a given, not a gift.
Generosity is our strategy. It combats the activist fatigue that comes from focusing only on problems and instead builds a sustainable, joyful movement.
When a neighbor carries an extra pad, a father advocates for products in his daughter’s school, or a community hosts a storytelling session, they are doing more than providing aid they are actively dismantling stigma.
This collective action creates the unstoppable momentum needed to push for bigger, systemic changes, like removing taxes on period products and ensuring universal access to menstrual education.
How It Works: Our Simple Path to Impact
We are building a future where:
- Periods are spoken about openly, without shame or stigma.
- All people who menstruate have access to the products of their choice.
- Menstrual health education is inclusive, comprehensive, and universal.
- Workplaces and schools have supportive policies, like free products and period leave.
- Local leaders have the funding and resources they need to drive change in their communities.
- Policymakers champion menstrual justice as a fundamental human right.
